Polished Pebbles

When living on the coast, I loved to walk along the beach and see what the rolling ocean and its waves created out of rocks and even glass. I once found a rock that had been flattened, formed in the shape of a heart and polished smooth.

In last night’s Church Service, we had a guest speaker, and he talked about how our lives are like a pebbles in God’s hands. How the Father uses the “river of our lives" to shape, polish and sometimes even flatten us, according to HIS purposes for us.

Lately and through some painful circumstances, some of my own doing, my life and my faith have been tossed about in what seems like raging seas. I’ve questioned God, as to why some people, who claim Jesus as Lord, sin and call it faith, make poor choices and call them blessings, while others serve faithfully and seem to be treated harshly and unfairly by God.

The LORD had a word for me this morning, “I discipline those that I love.” I can’t say those words brought me comfort, but they have quieted a ravaged spirit.

Truthfully, I don’t yet see the shoreline, nonetheless, my prayer is that when God is finished, I will be a beautifully polished, heart shaped pebble in God’s Hands.
Have a great week and check back on Friday for Friday's Fotos

Beautifully written! It takes time for the water to smooth the stone & it brought to mind the phrase about being "cleansed by the washing of water with the Word" Eph 5:26
Thank you so much for sharing what God laid on your heart.
